Minister Muto Holds Meeting with H.E. Mr. Taras Kachka, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, H.E. Mr. Andrii Sybiha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and H.E. Mr. Oleksii Sobolev, Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine

On Monday, August 4, 2025, Mr. Muto Yoji, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Taras Kachka, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, H.E. Mr. Andrii Sybiha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and H.E. Mr. Oleksii Sobolev, Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine. They welcomed the progress made in public-private collaboration projects made at the Japan-Ukraine Economic Reconstruction Promotion Forum, which was held in the morning, and exchanged views toward further cooperation.

At the beginning of the meeting between Minister Muto and Ukrainian representatives—H.E. Mr. Taras Kachka, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, H.E. Mr. Andrii Sybiha, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and H.E. Mr. Oleksii Sobolev, Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture—the participants presented a Joint Declaration by METI of Japan, the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) concerning support for the reconstruction of Ukraine.

At the meeting, the Ukraine side expressed their gratitude for the progress made in cooperation efforts between Japanese and Ukrainian companies and relevant institutions at the Japan-Ukraine Economic Reconstruction Promotion Forum held in the morning, and for METI’s efforts to date on supporting Ukraine’s reconstruction. Minister Muto conveyed Japan’s intention to continue supporting Ukraine’s reconstruction through public-private partnerships by utilizing reconstruction support projects through UNIDO, and the parties exchanged views on the potential for further bilateral cooperation directed toward Ukraine’s reconstruction and economic development.
