Minister Muto Attends the Ecuador Investment and Trade Promotion Seminar Hosted by the Republic of Ecuador

On Wednesday, August 27, Mr. Muto Yoji, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, attended the Ecuador Investment and Trade Promotion Seminar hosted by the Republic of Ecuador held in Tokyo and delivered his remarks as a guest of honor. From Ecuador, H.E. Mr. Daniel Noboa Azín, President of the Republic of Ecuador, H.E. Mr. Luis Alberto Jaramillo Granja, Minister of Production, Foreign Trade and Investment of the Republic of Ecuador, and H.E. Ms. Gabriela Sommerfeld, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of the Republic of Ecuador attended.
1. Guest Address by Minister Muto
During the guest of honor, Minister Muto referred to the current state of trade and investment between Japan and Ecuador and expressed his expectation on creating further business opportunities in various industrial areas. He also emphasized the importance of steadily improving Ecuador’s business environment to further strengthen bilateral economic relations.


2. Speech by President Noboa
President Noboa expressed his strong enthusiasm for further invigorating and expanding the long-standing bilateral economic exchanges by promoting bilateral trade and investment. He also emphasized that domestic demand for high value-added products and services is increasing against a background of high economic growth and rising national income in Ecuador, and he urged Japanese corporations to take full advantage of these opportunities.
