State Minister Ogushi Holds Meeting with Rt Hon Douglas Alexander MP, Minister of State at the Department for Business and Trade of the United Kingdom

On Friday, August 29, Mr. Ogushi Masaki, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, held a meeting with the Right Honourable Douglas Alexander MP, Minister of State at the Department for Business and Trade of the United Kingdom. Both sides affirmed ongoing collaboration towards deepening bilateral economic relations.

State Minister Ogushi welcomed the visit to Japan of the Right Honourable Douglas Alexander MP, Minister of State at the Department for Business and Trade of the United Kingdom. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on collaboration in international arenas including the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). They also discussed ways to deepen bilateral economic relations, building on the 2nd Japan-UK Strategic Economic Policy and Trade Dialogue and the Japan-UK Economic 2+2 Ministers’ Meeting, which were held in March 2025. They agreed to continue their efforts towards strengthening bilateral economic relations.
