State Minister Ogushi Attends Barbados’s National Day at Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, Japan

On Wednesday, September 17, Mr. Ogushi Masaki, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, attended Barbados’s National Day event held at Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai. He also held a meeting with the Honourable Miss Kay S. McConney, Minister of Economic Affairs and Investment of Barbados. The two sides exchanged views on bilateral economic relations.
1. Participation in Barbados’s National Day Even
State Minister Ogushi attended Barbados’s National Day Event held at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. During the ceremony, he appeared on stage with the Honourable Miss Kay S. McConney Minister and delivered a speech as a representative of the Government of Japan. In his remarks, State Minister Ogushi expressed his hope that the Expo would serve as an opportunity to further strengthen bilateral relations between Japan and Barbados. At the luncheon following the ceremony, they exchanged views on strengthening bilateral economic relations. The two also visited both the Japan Pavilion and the Barbados pavilion.

2. Meeting with the Honourable Miss Kay S. McConney, Minister of Economic Affairs and Investment of Barbados
State Minister Ogushi held a meeting with Minister McConney to convey his gratitude for Barbados’s official participation in Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, and expressed his expectation that bilateral economic relations will be strengthening through collaboration in industrial areas such as infrastructure, disaster prevention, environmental protection, and digital technology. Minister McConney emphasized the importance of bilateral economic relations and expressed her expectation of closer cooperation with Japan in the industrial areas of climate change Mitigation, renewable energy, logistics, animation and gaming industries.
