Minister Muto Holds the 8th Saudi-Japan Vision 2030 Ministerial Meeting

Today, Mr. Muto Yoji, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, held a meeting with H.E. Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, Minister of Investment, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who is currently visiting Japan, and held the 8th Saudi-Japan Vision 2030 Ministerial Meeting.
1. Meeting with Minister Al-Falih
Prior to holding the Saudi-Japan Vision 2030 Ministerial Meeting, Minister Muto held a meeting with Minister Al-Falih and exchanged views on the progress made in cooperation in individual industrial sectors since Minister Muto's visit to Riyadh in January of this year, as well as areas of future cooperation. They also confirmed that Japan and Saudi Arabia will continue to encourage the public and private sectors to propel bilateral cooperation under the Saudi-Japan Vision 2030.
2. The 8th Saudi-Japan Vision 2030 Ministerial Meeting
The 8th Saudi-Japan Vision 2030 Ministerial Meeting was held, attended by Minister Muto and Mr. Fujii Hisayuki, State Minister for Foreign Affairs from the Japanese side, and Minister Al-Falih, and H.R.H. Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al-Saud, Chairman of the Saudi eSports Federation from the Saudi side, in addition to other government officials from both sides. In the meeting, both sides confirmed the progress of economic projects underway within the Vision, and agreed to consider establishing a framework for systematically transferring the know-how cultivated through Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, to Saudi Arabia, in preparation for Expo 2030 Riyadh, as well as to advance cooperation in new fields such as autonomous driving AI technology and space-related technology.
Following the meeting, a signing and presentation ceremony for private-sector cooperation documents was held, and the following two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were presented in the presence of Minister Muto, State Minister Fujii, Minister Al-Falih, and Chairman Faisal: an MoU between SEGA CORPORATION and the Saudi Esports Federation (for cooperation in games and e-sports), and an MoU between Tier IV Inc. and Elm (a Saudi Arabian public digital company) (for cooperation in implementation of autonomous driving AI technology in Saudi Arabia).
