Second Japan-Korea High Level Dialogue in the Field of Critical Minerals Held

On Wednesday, December 17, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Resources (MOTIR), the Republic of Korea, held the Second Japan-ROK High-Level Dialogue in the Field of Critical Minerals in Seoul, the Republic of Korea. The two sides held discussions to fortify cooperation frameworks in the field of mining between Japan and the ROK.

In the dialogue, both sides exchanged views on sharing critical minerals-related policies between Japan and the ROK and on the current market conditions for copper refining towards strengthening bilateral relations in the supply chain of critical minerals.

Moreover, confirming the urgent need for cooperation towards strengthening the supply chain of critical minerals that are used in various industries, both sides affirmed their commitments to further strengthening collaboration.
