Minister Akazawa Attends Japan-Uzbekistan Roundtable

Today, Mr. Akazawa Ryosei, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and H. E. Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, co-chaired the Japan-Uzbekistan Roundtable. During the roundtable, Minister Akazawa expressed his hope for further deepening bilateral economic relations, as well as his intention to proceed with realistic decarbonization efforts by leveraging Japan’s technologies and know-how, in line with the direction of the “Central Asia plus Japan” Dialogue Ministerial Joint Statement on Economic and Energy, which is to be issued with five Central Asian countries, including Uzbekistan. In addition, Japanese companies operating in Uzbekistan gathered to engage in a dialogue with President Mirziyoyev to promote their business activities, and multiple business cooperation documents were presented in the presence of Minister Akazawa and the President Mirziyoyev.
