Consultation Committee on the Japan-U.S. Strategic Investment Initiative

On Tuesday, December 23, from 10:00 p.m. to 0:00 a.m., a Consultation Committee meeting based on the Japan-U.S. Strategic Investment Initiative was held online.
Mr. Akazawa Ryosei, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Mr. Howard Lutnick, Secretary of Commerce of the United States of America, and Mr. Chris Wright, Secretary of Energy of the United States of America, attended the meeting, along with the following parties: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Ministry of Finance, METI, Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), and Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) from Japan, and U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. Department of Energy from the United States of America.
During the meeting, the participating ministers agreed to accelerate efforts to promptly announce the first project under the Strategic Investment Initiative.
