Joint news release with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance

External Economic Policy

On Wednesday, January 7, a Consultation Committee meeting based on the Japan-U.S. Strategic Investment Initiative was held online.

The meeting was attended by the Department of Commerce from the United States, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, as well as Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) from Japan.

Both sides exchanged views towards the announcement of the first project of the Investment Initiative and affirmed their commitment to continue close collaboration to develop such projects.
