Syria-Palestine-Iraq Economic Recovery and Development Forum Held

On Monday, January 19, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) jointly held the Syria-Palestine-Iraq Economic Recovery and Development Forum.
At the forum, Mr. OCHI Toshiyuki, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, delivered the opening remarks. The forum discussed effective collaboration between public support and private trade and investment in the economic recovery and development of the Syrian Arab Republic, Palestine, and the Republic of Iraq.
At the opening of the Syria-Palestine-Iraq Economic Recovery and Development Forum, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Ochi delivered his remarks, in which he called for the importance of early entry of Japanese companies into the economic recovery and development of Syria, Palestine and Iraq.
The forum featured a panel discussion by representatives from Syria, Palestine, and Iraq on the possibility of collaboration with Japanese companies, presentations on support tools available from government agencies, and examples of Japanese companies expanding into these regions.
