METI Establishes the Iran Situation Energy Response Headquarters

In response to the escalating tensions surrounding Iran, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) established the “Iran Situation Energy Response Headquarters” headed by Mr. Akazawa Ryosei, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and held the first meeting.
Overview of the first Iran Situation Energy Response Headquarters meeting
In the first meeting, Minister Akazawa instructed participants to work with a sense of urgency; including accurately grasping the oil market trends, the impact of the situation surrounding Iran on Japan’s stable energy supply and on the entire Japanese economy including prices, and to swiftly take necessary measures. METI will make all-out efforts to ensure stable energy supply and minimize the impact on people’s lives and economic activities.
