Joint news release with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance

External Economic Policy

On Tuesday, March 3, a Consultation Committee meeting based on the Japan-U.S. Strategic Investment Initiative was held online.

The meeting was attended by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, as well as Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) from Japan, and the Department of Commerce from the United States of America.

Both sides exchanged views on the Investment Initiative and agreed to continue close collaboration to develop further projects, with the upcoming Japan-U.S. summit meeting also in mind.
