Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Akazawa Holds Meeting with H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Group CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Special Envoy of the United Arab Emirates to Japan, and H.E. Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates

During the meeting, Minister Akazawa conveyed his sympathies regarding the damage caused in the UAE by the attacks carried out by Iran and once again emphasized that the UAE is an important strategic partner for Japan. He also requested support for ensuring the safety of Japanese companies operating locally. In addition, Minister Akazawa asked both ministers to continue ensuring the stable supply of crude oil and LNG to Japan amid the current situation in the Middle East in relation to Iran, and shared his expectation that the UAE would demonstrate leadership in stabilizing the international crude oil market.

Minister Al Jaber stated that the UAE is committed to ensuring the energy security of Japan, which is a strategically important partner.
