H.E. Radmila Shekerinska, Deputy Secretary General of NATO, Holds Meeting with State Minister Ino and Engages in Dialogue with Japanese Dual-Use Startups

Today, H.E. Radmila Shekerinska, Deputy Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), visited the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and held a meeting with Mr. Ino Toshiro, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, to promote defense industry cooperation between Japan and NATO. On the same day, dual-use startup companies gave presentations on their products and technologies, and there was a lively exchange of views.
1. Meeting with State Minister Ino
During the meeting, State Minister Ino introduced METI's measures, including cooperation with like-minded countries, aimed at strengthening the foundations of the defense industry.
They also exchanged views on strengthening defense industry cooperation, including utilizing the cutting-edge technologies of dual-use startup companies and strengthening supply chains through mutual complementarity between Japan and NATO.
2. Exchange of views with dual-use startup companies
Six Japanese dual-use startup companies gave pitch-style presentations on their products and technologies, after which there was a lively exchange of views between Deputy Secretary-General Shekerinska and the participating companies.
