Minister Akazawa Attends Meeting of the G7 Energy and Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors

On Monday, March 30, the G7 Energy and Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors held an online meeting. Mr. Akazawa Ryosei, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, attended the meeting.
The G7 Energy and Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors held an online meeting under the chairmanship of the French Republic. From Japan, Mr. Akazawa Ryosei, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Ms. Katayama Satsuki, Minister of Finance, and Mr. Ueda Kazuo, Governor of the Bank of Japan, attended the meeting. The meeting was also attended by the representatives of the International Energy Agency (IEA), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
Participants discussed solidarity among the G7 members, after sharing the latest developments regarding the impact of the current situation in the Middle East on energy supply and demand and economic activities.
As an outcome of this meeting, the G7 Finance Ministers, Central Bank Governors, and Energy Ministers issued a joint statement.
