Parliamentary Vice-Minister KOMORI Attends Japan-Indonesia Business Forum

On Monday, March 30, Mr. KOMORI Takuo, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, participated in the Japan-Indonesia Business Forum, which was attended by H.E. Mr. Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia.

This forum was held by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) as organizers, jointly with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) as co-organizers, on the occasion of the first official visit to Japan of H.E. Mr. Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia.

The forum aims to further strengthen bilateral economic relations through expanding and facilitating Japanese companies’ business activities in Indonesia and promoting trade between the two countries.

In his remarks, Parliamentary Vice-Minister KOMORI highlighted Japanese companies’ contributions in the automobile and energy fields and other areas under the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC). He also mentioned the strong, long-standing cooperation and trust between the two countries.

Emphasizing the importance of further public-private cooperation amid growing international instability, he stated that the Governments of Japan and Indonesia have aligned to select and prioritize key industries and develop specific projects towards achieving greater autonomy, in collaboration with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA).

From the Government of Indonesia, the forum was attended by President Prabowo, Mr. Teddy Indra Wijaya, Cabinet Secretary, H.E. Mr. Sugiono, Minister for Foreign Affairs, H.E. Dr. Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, H.E. Mr. Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry, H.E. Mr. Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources.

In the forum, both sides unveiled ten Memorandum of Understanding (MOU projects list (in Japanese)) for projects worth 22.6 billion U.S. dollars in total involving Japanese and Indonesian companies.
