Minister Akazawa and State Minister Ino Hold Meeting with OECD Secretary-General Cormann

Today, Mr. Akazawa Ryosei, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Mr. Ino Toshiro, State Minister of METI, held a meeting with Mr. Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), to exchange views on future cooperation with the OECD.
Today, Minister Akazawa and State Minister Ino held a meeting with Mr. Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General of the OECD, during his visit to Japan to exchange views on future cooperation with the OECD.
As a result of the meeting, both sides agreed to further strengthen collaboration between Japan and the OECD on issues related to economic security and on enhancing engagement with Asian countries in light of the Middle East situation.
Mr. Mathias Cormann was appointed as the Secretary-General of the OECD in June 2021. Prior to his appointment to the OECD, he served as the Australian Minister for finance and in other important posts. His second term will begin in June 2026.
