Minister Akazawa Holds Meeting with Mr. Ben Horowitz (Co-founder of Andreessen Horowitz)

During the meeting, Mr. Horowitz stated that the company will establish its only overseas office in Tokyo and that, through this office, it intends in the future to also operate its entrepreneur development program—currently conducted only in the United States—in Japan and expand its investment in the country.

Minister Akazawa welcomed the establishment of the company’s Tokyo office and expressed his hopes for the advancement and globalization of Japan’s startup ecosystem through investment in and support for Japanese startups. Both sides also exchanged views on startup policy.
