2009 Report on Compliance by Major Trading Partners with Trade Agreements - WTO, FTA/EPA, BIT -

The 2009 Report on Compliance by Major Trading Partners with Trade Agreements - WTO, FTA/EPA, BIT- has been adopted on May 27 by the Subcommittee on Unfair Trade Policies and Measures (Chairman: Mitsuo MATSUSHITA, Professor of Law, Seikei University) of the Industrial Structure Council.
In response to the report, METI has released “METI Priorities on WTO Inconsistent Foreign Trade Policies” (“METI Priorities”) , containing items and related actions deemed to be of a high priority in implementing future trade policies.
Moreover, in response to nations’ growing necessity of deterring protectionism amid the global economic crisis, METI has also released “Protectionist Move and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s Reaction” , containing protectionist measures adopted by some countries and areas and METI’s reaction.
