First Meeting of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Joint Committee Held

On April 26 and 27, the first meeting of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Joint Committee was held via video conference.
On April 26 and 27, the first meeting of the Joint Committee of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement was held via video conference. As representatives of Japan, Mr. Yahagi Tomoyoshi, Director-General for Trade Policy of METI, Mr. Watanabe Ken, Deputy Director-General and Ambassador of the Economic Affairs Bureau of MOFA and Ambassador of Economic Diplomacy, and representatives of other related ministries and agencies took part. During the meeting, discussions were held on various matters regarding implementing and operating the Agreement, and a decision was made to establish Committees on Goods, Services and Investments, Sustainable Growth, and the Business Environment.

- ASEAN members: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam
- Members other than ASEAN: Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, and New Zealand
