March 10, 2025
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has been promoting a program called “KENKO Investment for Health” as part of its efforts for achieving a healthy, long-lived society. This program aims to encourage organizations not only to consider the health of their employees through a KENKO Investment for Health initiative from a business-management perspective but also to strategically implement their efforts that lead to the maintenance and promotion of health in their employees.
METI hereby announces that on March 10, 2025, as the 2025 Outstanding Organizations of KENKO Investment for Health, the Nippon Kenko Kaigi* recognized 3,400 organizations under the large enterprise category (among which the top 500 were recognized as “White 500” enterprises), and 19,796 organizations under the SME category (among which the top 500 were recognized as “Bright 500” enterprises, and organizations ranked between 501st and 1,500th places were recognized as “Next Bright 1000” enterprises).

*Note: The Nippon Kenko Kaigi is an organization that takes practical community- and workplace-based actions through collaboration among private organizations and with full administrative support in order to extend the healthy lifespan of, and provide appropriate medical care for, each individual in Japan, a country that is facing a dramatically aging society and declining birthrate. The organization aims to encourage local governments and private organizations (e.g., economic organizations, medical organizations, and insurers) to work together to achieve concrete measures in workplaces and communities to overcome health-related challenges.
1. Recognition Program for the Outstanding Organizations of KENKO Investment for Health
The Recognition Program for the Outstanding Organizations of KENKO Investment for Health was established by METI in FY2016, aiming to highlight outstanding large enterprises and SMEs that have been implementing the KENKO Investment for Health program in order to develop an environment in which such enterprises are able to gain enhanced recognition from employees, employment seekers, related enterprises, and financial institutions, etc.
The Nippon Kenko Kaigi recognizes Outstanding Organizations of KENKO Investment for Health based on the assessment criteria set forth by the Study Group on the Promotion of KENKO Investment for Health, a body jointly organized by the KENKO Investment for Health Working Group of the Nippon Kenko Kaigi and the Hundred-Fifty-Thousand Health-Declaration Working Group.
