Fourth Seminar of the Japan Singapore Co-Creation Platform (JSCCP) Held

On Friday, March 21, 2025, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) from Japan, and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), the Economic Development Board (EDB), and Enterprise Singapore (ESG) of the Republic of Singapore jointly held the Fourth Seminar of the Japan-Singapore Co-Creation Platform (JSCCP) in Singapore.
1. Overview
From March 20 to 22, 2025, Mr. Kikukawa Jingo, Director-General, Innovation and Environment Policy Bureau, visited Singapore to attend the Fourth JSCCP Seminar and to exchange views with the Singaporean government, university, and other stakeholders.
2. JSCCP Fourth Seminar (in the morning of March 21)
At the seminar, Director-General Kikukawa delivered opening remarks. Following this, representatives of the governments and companies along with related personnel of startups from Japan and Singapore shared specific case examples of success, and then participants frankly exchanged views to further promote collaboration in the fields of deep tech, startup ecosystems, and open innovation.
Taking the opportunity of the seminar, the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) of Japan and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) of Singapore signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to further promote collaboration between them in the quantum field, which was witnessed by Director-General Kikukawa and Mr. Adrian Ng, Senior Director, MTI.




3. Exchanging views with the government of Singapore (in the afternoon of March 21)
Taking the opportunity of the seminar, Director-General Kikukawa visited MTI and exchanged views with related personnel of ESG, A*STAR, and EDB on the innovation policies, startup policies, and AI policies of both Japan and Singapore.


4. Exchanging views with the National University of Singapore (NUS) (in the afternoon of March 20)
Director-General Kikukawa visited NUS and exchanged views with Dr. Tan Eng Chye, NUS president, on ideal approaches to industry-academia collaboration, support for academic startups, and the potential for Japan-Singapore collaboration in these fields.
