As a Part of Additional Measures under the IAEA Framework, ALPS Treated Water Diluted with Seawater will be Sampled on the Premises of TEPCO’s FDNPS for the First Time

On April 15, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) officials and experts from third-party laboratories will sample ALPS treated water diluted with seawater prior to discharge into the sea on the premises of Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings (TEPCO)’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (FDNPS) for the first time.
In September 2024, Japan and the IAEA concurred in conducting the additional measures under the IAEA framework. These additional measures will be conducted following the measures in October 2024 and February 2025.
In the additional measures under the IAEA framework, IAEA officials and experts from laboratories from China, Republic of Korea, Russian Federation, and Switzerland will sample ALPS-treated water diluted with seawater prior to discharge into the sea on the premises of TEPCO’s FDNPS for the first time.
