Organizing the Economic Security Global Forum Weeks within 2025

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) will organize the Economic Security Global Forum Weeks within 2025 (from around October to December), during which government and private think tanks and other organizations will collaborate to hold a series of economic security-related international events.

1. Overview

As the international situation is getting severe and more complex, Japan needs to enhance the country’s economic intelligence capability both within and outside the government as a precondition to plan and implement effective economic security measures. In light of this need, METI will organize the Economic Security Global Forum Weeks, during which government and private think tanks and other organizations will collaborate to hold a series of economic security-related international events. Through the Weeks, the Ministry aims to build a platform to foster mutual understanding and collaboration among relevant domestic and international organizations.

2. Points related to the organization of the Weeks

Publication of the events to be held during the Weeks

METI will serve as the secretariat for the events to be held during the Weeks and plans to publish the events in the form of a list on a website, and will generate the synergy effect of the events by measures such as promoting the sharing of information about each of the events among participants and introducing experts to event organizers.

Call for holding an event

If you support the aforementioned purpose of the Economic Security Global Forum Weeks and want to hold an economic-security related international event as part of the Weeks to be organized within 2025 (from around October to December), please contact the division in charge as listed below.
METI will select the events in consideration of the event purpose, nature and relevant features.
