9th Japan-EU Digital Policy Dialogue Held

On Wednesday, March 25, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry held the 9th Japan-EU Digital Policy Dialogue with the European Commission's Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG Connect). The dialogue was co-chaired by Mr. Shibuya Toshihiko, Deputy Director-General for IT Strategy from the Japanese side, and by Mr. Thomas Skordas, Deputy Director-General, DG Connect from the EU side.
The Japan-EU Digital Policy Dialogue is held with the aim of deepening mutual understanding of digital policy between Japan and the EU and promoting collaboration and cooperation in the digital field.
At the 9th Dialogue, participants engaged in active discussions on important matters in the rapidly evolving digital field, such as AI, semiconductors, quantum technology, online platforms, data, and cyber resilience, in light of the latest policy trends and initiatives in Japan and the EU. In addition, both sides affirmed their commitment to continuing close collaboration towards deepening and materializing cooperation between Japan and the EU.
