Ministerial Discussion of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) for Prosperity Held

A Ministerial Discussion of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) for Prosperity was held on July 26 and 27, and Minister Hagiuda attended the meeting, representing the Japanese government.

The United States hosted a Ministerial Discussion of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) for Prosperity on July 26 and 27. The event included discussions in which views were exchanged on each country's interests and other thoughts regarding (1) trade, (2) supply chain resilience, (3) decarbonization and clean energy, and (4) tax and anti-corruption, toward the commencement of future negotiations.
Representing the Japanese government in the meeting, Mr. Hagiuda Koichi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, spoke on subjects such as the importance of pursuing a balanced package based on rules and cooperation to address 21st century issues such as digital technology, supply chains, and decarbonization, and thereby help form an open, fair, and inclusive economic order in the region.
