New regulations on child bed guards and strollers to be introduced for children's safety

On April 3, 2026, a Cabinet Decision was made on the Cabinet Order for Partially Amending the Order for Enforcement of the Consumer Product Safety Act. This Cabinet Order newly designates child bed guards and strollers as specified products for children and specified products under the Consumer Product Safety Act and regulates the sale of such products that do not meet the technical standards or lack labels indicating precautions for use, including the intended age range.

1. Background to the Revision

In response to recent product-related accidents involving children, child bed guards and strollers are newly designated as specified products for children and specified products under the Consumer Product Safety Act through this Cabinet Order revision. This will regulate the sale of such products that do not meet the technical standards or lack labels indicating precautions for use, including the intended age range.

2. Outline of the Revision

The Cabinet Order is to add the following to Appended Table 1, as items (xiv) and (xv), of the Order for Enforcement of the Consumer Product Safety Act and designate the following products as specified products for children and specified products:

4. Notice for Consumers

Ensuring children’s safety also requires checking the correct way to use each product and the relevant precautions. When using specified products for children, be sure to check for the Children PSC Mark and the precautions for use. Please cooperate in the event of a product-related accident by providing accurate information to manufacturers, importers, and distributors, and, in the event of a recall, by returning the recalled product.
