Basic Survey on Commercial and Manufacturing Structure and Activities

Explanation

This survey is conducted to clarify the actual management conditions of commercial and manufacturing business in Japan, obtain basic data for measures for small and medium-sized commercial and manufacturing enterprises, and survey commerce and manufacture as a whole, understanding various conditions of management of small and medium-sized enterprises. This survey is conducted every five years since 1998. This survey is conducted on manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, eating and drinking places sector whose operation falls, enterprises run by individuals, and enterprises designated by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (Enterprises sampled by industry and scale). Establishments which have 50 or more employees and whose paid-up capital or investment fund is over 30 million yen are excluded in this survey.
