What is an EPA?

EPA = Economic Partnership Agreement
An “EPA (Economic Partnership Agreement)” is a treaty that provides commitment to the following items in order to promote trade and investments between specific countries or regions.

Examples of commitments included in EPAs

  • ① Eliminating/reducing “tariffs imposed on exports and imports.”
  • ② Reducing/eliminating “regulations on service sectors.”
  • ③ “Improving investment environments.”
  • ④ Enhancing “protection of intellectual property.”
