Japan offers attractive opportunities for investors: cost competitiveness, a business-friendly environment, advanced technology and infrastructure, and a highly-skilled workforce. Global businesses can benefit from one of the world's largest, most dynamic economies, as well as easy access to the Asia-Pacific. Japan welcomes investment from foreign companies. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) is now taking a variety of measures to promote foreign direct investment in Japan.

The Invest Japan Offices provide services in response to the following requests and inquiries:
• Requests for investment information, such as market information and investment policies
• Requests for guidance on licensing application procedures related to investment
• Complaints regarding the handling of inquiries under the procedure for prior confirmation of application of investment-related laws (the so-called no-action letter system) mainly from inquirers
• Other inquiries about investment
JETRO's Individual Measures and Support for Foreign Investment
JETRO provides comprehensive support such as disseminating business information on Japan, proposing business matching and entry strategies, advising on the establishment of bases in Japan, and supporting business expansion with Japan companies. J-Bridge is a business platform to facilitate collaboration and alliances between Japanese companies and overseas startups/businesses. JETRO coordinators based in both Japan and foreign countries provide support for business tie-ups and relevant negotiations.
Japan Insight is a series of articles which provide useful insights into the changing investment and innovation environment and new business opportunities in post-Covid-19 Japan, for foreign companies and investors considering entry into the Japanese market or forming collaborative partnerships with Japanese companies.
